Expectations:
To refresh business cards while maintaining signature colors and imaging.
Process:
My client wanted to update her business cards for a modern feel. I started by updating the typography to Gioviale and Big Moore. Gioviale is a classic brush typeface that is simple to read yet gives a clean and sophisticated look. Big Moore is a traditional serif that includes old style numbers and high contrast. It is a timeless serif that will age with grace.
As for the dandelions, I wanted to simplify while still providing movement. That led to the idea of having the seeds float across the card. Using the seeds to fill blank space, as well as only having two flowers, allowed the type to be the focal point.
